SUDBURY - A local man is facing child pornography charges after a 19-month investigation, according to police.

Police arrested Zachary Grandinetti, 23, at 8:48 a.m. Friday at his 299 Bay Drive home, authorities said.

Police say they began an investigation on July 22, 2019. They had received a tip from the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Cyber Crime Unit.

The tip originated from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which said it connected an IP address on Bay Drive that had been uploading child pornography using "multiple internet sources."

Sudbury police began a lengthy investigation that included Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Attorney General's Major and Cyber Crime Division.

"The subsequent investigation, including obtaining subpoenas, search warrants and physical surveillance, revealed multiple images of very young children," police said in the statement.

Police charged Grandinetti with three counts of possession of child pornography . .

According to police, one count is related to a 2015 case against Grandinetti for possession of child pornography .

It is not known whether Grandinetti was arraigned Friday or will be on Monday in Framingham District Court.

My comments on this story:

This poor 23 year old guy was being investigated for 19 months by the following police agencies.

  • Sudbury police
  • Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Cyber Crime Unit.
  • Attorney General's Major and Cyber Crime Division.
  • National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

After a lengthy 19 month investigation and a blizzard of court related paper work work obtaining subpoenas, search warrants and physical surveillance, they nail some poor schuck with three counts of child pornography.

The children are referred to as very young minor aged victims.

How exactly did these children become victims.
What harm has been caused against these children in images?

I would love to know how much time and effort was spent by police authorities on this case.
On the assumption the Sudbury police have salaries comparable to Framingham police , that's a lot of money being spent across 19 months.

Next comes the spending more time in the incarceration gulag and parole offices.

What software is being used by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that connects local IP addresses to child porn sites overseas?
This sounds like NSA related activities.

The person arrested for three counts of child pornography after a lengthy 19 month investigation, is 23 years old.

In 2015, he was 17 years old. Any nude self-portrait would be deemed child pornography.

Who collects all the child porn pictures within law enforcement, and what do they do with it?
