How well-armed are Framingham police? August 26, 2014

How many machine guns and other automatic or semi-automatic weapons do the Framingham police carry in their cruisers and why do they carry any at all? How much ammunition do they have stored in their vaults, to be used against Framingham residents? Someone in Town Meeting should dig into to this issue if they really had testicular fortitude.

Sadly, none do. As it is said, one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a Town Meeting. Why should we have any confidence or respect in our local cops if they want to hide information from us?

Why did the Framingham police buy a $282,000 mobile command center and what exactly do they intend to do with it? They certainly exhibit their willingness to waste taxpayers funds and other monies they get.

Would it not have been better to spend such monies on cameras mounted on each officer to record their interactions with the public? That would dramatically improve the attitudes they project to the public that I see every day. They might actually behave like decent human beings.

I think every police officer should have their badge number in very large print on their uniforms (in front and back), visible at 100 feet, to someone with 20/20 vision. All interactions with the public should be video/audio recorded and placed in a database for court use if necessary. We have the technology. If an officer deliberately turns off the camera, the penalty should be loss of job. Period.

Isn't it bad enough that we have two murderers still working on the Framingham police force? Do you as a taxpayer want more?
